Brannyn brings over 20 years of professional experience in planning and land use, directing projects that range from helping rapidly changing communities plan for the future to the detailed planning and implementation of historic preservation initiatives. Her experience in both the public and private sectors provides her with a unique understanding of the roles that government, the private sector, and citizens play in shaping communities.
Brannyn specializes in the interdisciplinary fields of comprehensive planning, development regulations, land use and development, and placemaking, with experience in both rural and urban settings. She understands the consultant’s as a listener, facilitator, and consensus builder.
Before founding Gray Planning in 2009, Brannyn held a variety of land development and urban planning roles in Georgia, Florida, and Texas, giving her a broad regional insight and a deep understanding of diverse regulatory and market environments.
She began her career as a real estate development project manager, an experience that shaped her market-based, implementation-focused approach to planning. This foundation ensures that recommended strategies are realistic, actionable, and aligned with market conditions. This experience, coupled with her public and private-sector planning experience, gives her a unique perspective on land use and development from ‘both sides of the table’.
