Brannyn brings 20 years of professional experience in planning and land use. She directs projects ranging from the planning of rapidly changing communities to the detailed *** of historic preservation projects. Brannyn has worked in both the public and private sector, which provides her with a unique appreciation for the role that government, the private sector, and citizens play in shaping communities. She specializes in the interdisciplinary fields of comprehensive plans, development regulations, land use and development, and placemaking. She has practiced in both rural and urban areas, and understands the role of the consultant as listener and facilitator.
Before founding Gray Planning in 2009, Brannyn worked in a variety of roles in land development and urban planning in Georgia, Florida, and Texas.
Starting her career as a real estate development project manager afforded her the skill and vision to approach projects through a market-based, implementation focused lens – ensuring that recommended strategies and projects are in the best interest of all stakeholders. This experience coupled with her public and private-sector planning experience gives her a unique perspective on land use and development from ‘both sides of the table’.
